Industry Leaders Join HP to Deliver Extensive Portfolio of Solutions for New HP Integrity Server Line

Accenture, Bearing Point, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Deloitte Consulting, PeopleSoft, Siebel Systems Commit to Itanium, Offering Customers an Extensive Network of Itanium-based Applications and Solutions

PALO ALTO, CALIF., JUNE 30, 2003

HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced that an extensive portfolio of applications from software developers and service firms are available on the new HP Integrity servers based on Intel's next-generation Itanium® 2 6M processor.

Leading enterprise software vendors PeopleSoft and Siebel Systems, a leading provider of multichannel eBusiness applications software, today committed to move their applications to the new HP Integrity family, adding to the hundreds of applications already available on Itanium, including those from powerhouses like BEA, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP and SAS.

In addition to the company's own infrastructure services offerings, HP announced the support of Accenture, Bearing Point, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, and Deloitte Consulting, whose integrated solutions and services will further enhance HP's Itanium-based systems.

The HP Integrity server line includes systems that range from one- and two-way entry-level servers up to the 64-processor HP Integrity Superdome server, the industry's most powerful enterprise system. Extending the HP Adaptive Enterprise strategy, the network of companies supporting Itanium provides customers with the applications, services and tools they need to increase agility, accountability and return on information technology.

Industry-leading applications for HP Integrity systems are available to customers running on the following operating systems: HP-UX 11i v2, Linux and Microsoft Windows® Server2003. In addition, a large number of independent software vendors (ISVs) have committed to moving applications to OpenVMS when it becomes available on Integrity servers, scheduled for 2004. As of today, a limited number of key OpenVMS ISVs have received a copy of an evaluation release of OpenVMS for Integrity V8.0 and are now beginning to port their applications.

"Enterprise customers are demanding more in terms of the total ownership experience," said Ram Gupta, executive vice president, products and technology, PeopleSoft, Inc. "Working with HP, we are able to deliver to our customers the price/performance advantages of Itanium and the pure Internet architecture of PeopleSoft applications. That's a winning combination that not only will enhance the return on IT investment, but also will offer our customers a significant competitive edge."

"Siebel Systems is pleased to be working with HP to bring the benefits of Itanium 2 Integrity to enterprise customers," said Richard Gorman, senior vice president of products, Siebel Systems. "Our customers will see a performance increase when they run Siebel eBusiness applications with Itanium Windows or HP-UX 64-bit Itanium database servers. HP is taking the lead in creating new technologies that will increase customer satisfaction through higher performance, increased scalability and improved return on IT investment."

In addition to PeopleSoft and Siebel Systems, the following commercial vendors are committed to port applications to the new HP Integrity systems: ANGOSS Software Corporation, Basis Technology, CyberSource, DataDirect Technologies, Ericom Software, Etnus, Firstlogic, GE Network Solutions, GenaWare, InstallShield, Legato, McCabe & Associates, MicroStrategy, NetIQ, OpenLink Software, Platform Computing, RSA Security, Search Software America, TimesTen and Visual Mining. These new ISVs join the companies previously announced in April and May of this year.

As a result of the company's efforts to help ISVs deliver industry-specific Itanium-based solutions, HP also announced that four key commercial ISVs -- ADC, Amdocs, Granite Systems and Intec Telecom Systems -- have committed to port billing, messaging and provisioning applications targeted at customers in the telecommunications market. They join previously announced ISVs, including 724 Solutions, Convergys, Critical Path Software, CSG Systems, Portal Software and Schlumberger, which are working to enable customers in vertical markets to realize the performance and cost-of-ownership benefits of HP Integrity servers.

"Today's announcement offers enterprise customers choice and a wide range of interoperable and best-in-class Itanium 2-based applications and services," said Mark Hudson, vice president of marketing, HP Enterprise Storage and Servers. "Together with our partners, HP Integrity servers are uniquely enabling customers to realize the benefits of next-generation, industry-standard technology, delivering high performance at lower costs."

Itanium-based Solution Programs

HP has established worldwide programs for ISVs, developers and customers to enable them to develop and deploy Itanium-based solutions quickly and easily.

An important component of these programs is the global network of jointly sponsored HP and Intel Solution Centers. These centers enable customers to work with HP and ISVs to conduct proof-of-concept testing, capacity planning and performance tuning of Itanium-based solutions and provide them with access to HP and Intel specialists. The centers are located in Cupertino, Calif., Grenoble, France and Shanghai, China.

HP also is working toward ongoing delivery of ISV solutions on Itanium systems through its established Developer and Solution Partner Program (DSPP). With nearly 7,000 member companies worldwide, DSPP provides tools, programs and support resources for ISVs to design, develop and deploy on the HP Itanium 2 architecture.
