Leading Technology Companies and Systems Integrators Support HP's Adaptive Enterprise Strategy

SAN JOSE, CALIF., MAY 6, 2003

HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced its Adaptive Enterprise strategy with support from industry leaders Accenture, BEA, BearingPoint, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Cisco Systems, Deloitte Consulting, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP and Siebel Systems. HP is working collaboratively with these world-class companies to jointly deliver complete, market-leading enterprise solutions and services to enable customers to make faster, smarter IT decisions in rapidly changing business environments.

Partnering is central to HP's strategy to deliver infrastructure and cross-industry solutions in key areas that include business continuity, customer relationship management (CRM), supply chain management (SCM), enterprise resource planning (ERP), enterprise integration, IT consolidation, management, virtualization, managed services, and others. By closely linking HP's infrastructure platform with the industry's leading software solutions and business processes, HP and its network of alliance partners are already delivering on this strategy.

"HP customers win because we understand that technology collaboration is key to delivering superior solutions, and we have embedded this philosophy into our Adaptive Enterprise strategy," said Peter Blackmore, executive vice president, HP Enterprise Systems Group. "Without question, IT infrastructure has to be truly adaptive and partner support for HP's Adaptive Enterprise strategy is key to delivering to our customers the flexibility and freedom of choice they need to effectively align their IT resources with business processes, while maintaining control over their IT investments."

HP and Oracle are delivering integrated enterprise solutions, ensuring customers can more efficiently integrate new and existing applications to optimize their systems in order to better align IT and business needs. Customers who want to provision their computing resources dynamically can use Oracle9i Database with Real Application Clusters with the HP Utility Data Center to allocate computing power where and when it is needed.

"Oracle and HP understand that business agility is key to success today," said Mike Rocha, executive vice president, Platform Technologies Division, Oracle. "Oracle's software, from database and clustering technology to ERP and CRM applications, provides enterprises the information they need to be successful. HP's Adaptive Enterprise, a powerful foundation for IT, ensures that Oracle environments keep pace with change. Together, we provide enterprises with immediate knowledge leading to intelligent action."

Global system integrators, including Accenture, BearingPoint, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and Deloitte Consulting, coupled with industry-leading technology and software companies BEA, Cisco Systems, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP and Siebel Systems, work with HP to deliver world-class IT infrastructures and solutions to joint customers while extending technological and industry leadership.

"Accenture and HP have worked together for more than a decade, designing and deploying world-class technology infrastructures and business applications our clients need," said James Hall, managing partner, technology and research, Accenture. "HP's Adaptive Enterprise strategy is designed to maximize infrastructure utilization by transforming the way companies build and leverage IT infrastructure. As a result, we will be able to better deliver solutions that help our clients adapt quickly to business change and accelerate business results."

Today's announcement is a first step in developing a broad network of partners that will support and deliver HP's Adaptive Enterprise strategy. HP continues to collaborate with its alliance partners to provide customers the benefit to choose the solutions that best meet their needs, the flexibility offered through open standards and the control they need to achieve business agility and maximize the return on their IT investments.
