HP Print Software for Real Estate Professionals Reduces Cost, Complexity of Tracking Printer Usage

PALO ALTO, Calif., Feb. 12, 2003

HP (NYSE:HPQ) today announced a free software application for the HP Color LaserJet 4600 printer that enhances the accuracy of accounting and billing for printing documents in real estate offices.

The combined solution allows real estate professionals to produce high-quality documents in-house instead of sending them out to print shops, saving valuable time and money.

"HP is committed to delivering intelligent products and management tools that enhance productivity and efficiency for real estate professionals," said Robyn West, vice president of marketing and SMB, HP Personal Systems Group. "Today's announcement underscores our goal to deliver simple, relevant solutions that enable customers to focus on their business objectives rather than the challenges of print job tracking and document distribution."

"The National Association of Realtors recognized HP's commitment to the real estate industry and is proud to include the company in its roster of REALTOR VIP® partners," said Bob Goldberg, senior vice president of Marketing and Business Development, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION of REALTORS®. "Technology is crucial to the success of our industry and we look to innovative partners like HP to deliver productivity-enhancing solutions to Realtors."

HP Print Job Accounting for Real Estate software uses a special software component that is automatically installed on each printer during setup. This component records information about each print job on the printer hard drive. HP Print Job Accounting can retrieve this information from the drive and process the information into viewable and printable reports and summaries. It also can create the reports and summaries in formats that are compatible with various programs such as QuickBooks 2000 or later versions.

The HP Color LaserJet 4600 printer is one of the most affordable printing solutions in its class, offering real estate professionals an easy-to-use system that prints professional-looking documents.

It prints color documents as fast as black and white at speeds up to 17 pages per minute. Plus, the printer is designed with a simple paper path and uses only four supplies, so maintenance is infrequent and easy to perform.
