Houston-Area Students Tackle Technology in Annual Computer Programming Competition

Compaq, Harris County Department of Education Team Up for Debut of Compaq Kids' Day

HOUSTON, February 21, 2002

If your life depended on it, could you decode a foreign prison's security system to save a prisoner captured in a hostile military zone? Or could you write a program for the World Bank to regularly update account balances? Or in two minutes, could you program a robot to complete an obstacle course with no remote control? Well, Houston-area middle and high school students can—and they're showing-off their computer programming skills at Compaq Code Wars and Compaq Kids' Day on Friday and Saturday, March 1 and 2.
