HP Delivers Technology Catalog Promoting Affordable and Reliable IT Products for Growing Businesses

PALO ALTO, Calif., Sept. 12, 2002


HP (NYSE: HPQ) today announced the availability of its new technology catalog, which provides convenient, one-stop shopping for HP products essential to running and growing a small- and medium-sized business. The free catalog features color photos and concise descriptions of the new HP's full suite of products, services and solutions -- from Compaq Evo commercial-grade PCs and HP ProLiant servers to printers and HP iPAQ Pocket PCs.

The SMB catalog makes purchase flexible and easy whether through a reseller, the Web or a toll-free number -- the choice is the customer's to make.

"In compiling this guide, we assembled cost-effective IT solutions for businesses to choose from," said Robyn West, vice president of small and medium business marketing, HP Personal Systems Group. "The SMB solutions guide is a resource that helps customers and resellers gain an overall appreciation of the extensive depth and breadth of the new HP's technology portfolio."

The new catalog is published quarterly and offers competitive pricing on leading technology products designed to help small and medium business customers effectively compete in today's 24x7 business arena. The guide includes desktop PCs and workstations, Compaq Evo notebooks, HP iPAQ Pocket PCs, wireless networking solutions, printing and imaging technologies, projectors, HP ProLiant servers, storage, software and peripherals, and comprehensive security solutions to help customers protect their data and equipment.

According to a recent report titled "Small and Medium Business Personal Computing Marketing," "In any industry, but particularly now in IT, the brand has to have a clear and differentiated value proposition that resonates with the target audience," said Rob Enderle, research fellow, Giga Information Group. "The execution must leverage reliable distribution channels by being both consistent and eye catching so that it is successful in gaining, and retaining, the targeted customers."
