Compaq Evo Notebook 400c Named Most Innovative Wirelessly Enabled Notebook Computer (Advisory) HOUSTON, November 13, 2001 Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today announced that its Compaq Evo Notebook N400C was awarded Outlook 4Mobility's inaugural "Most Innovative Wirelessly Enabled Notebook Computer" award during Andrew Seybold's 11th Annual Wireless Dinner at Comdex Fall 2001. Weighing in at just 3.5 pounds, the Compaq Evo Notebook N400c is an ultra light, ultra portable notebook, which boasts Compaq's innovative MultiPort wireless option. MultiPort is an interchangeable module that slides into place on the back of the notebook and becomes an integral element of the notebook. This flexible, innovative solution allows users to connect using multiple wireless standards such as 802.11b wireless LAN or Bluetooth™ for ad hoc personal area networking by simply changing out the MultiPort module. MultiPort also provides customers with investment protection, enabling easy upgrades to future wireless technologies such as 802.11a wireless LAN for speeds up to 54Mbps or next generation wireless wide area networking for true Internet connectivity anywhere. The Compaq Evo N400c Notebook comes with dual battery support for over five hours of battery life(1). Additionally, optional support for up to four batteries is available for all day computing power(2). The Compaq Evo N400c Notebook also includes a full size keyboard and a newly designed optional Mobile Expansion Unit, which expands the capabilities by adding dual MultiBay support, full port replication, docking station connector and stereo speakers(3).
