Compaq Supports Siebel 7, the Next Generation of Siebel eBusiness Applications

HOUSTON, October 1, 2001

Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today announced support for Siebel 7, the seventh major release of Siebel eBusiness applications from Siebel Systems Inc., (Nasdaq:SEBL). Compaq has optimized Siebel 7 performance and reliability on Compaq hardware platforms, from iPAQ™ and Evo™ clients to ProLiant™ industry-standard servers and Alpha servers, and offers integration with NonStopHimalaya™ servers. This will provide organizations with complete eBusiness solutions that increase productivity, maximize revenue and profit, and significantly enhance customer acquisition, satisfaction and retention.

Siebel Systems enable software vendors to easily integrate solutions through open, extensible, advanced Smart Web Architecture. Through the support of Compaq's highly scalable, fault-tolerant hardware systems backed by Compaq Global Professional Services, Siebel 7 is a solution that allows organizations to manage, synchronize and coordinate all customer touch points across the Web, call centers, field sales, service personnel and channel partners.
