Compaq SANworks Snapshot Technology Proven Compatible with Oracle Solutions (Advisory)

Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ), a global leader in technology and solutions, has been approved by Oracle as a qualified member of the Oracle^® Storage Compatibility Program (OSCP) in the area of snapshot technology, utilizing Compaq SANworks Enterprise Volume Manager. This program offers Oracle customers greater confidence that Compaq StorageWorks and SANworks are compatible with Oracle's database products.

Compaq SANworks Enterprise Volume Manager (EVM) is a Web-based application software that manages controller-based clone and snapshot operations. EVM clone and snapshot operations expand the backup window to 24x7 and address the need for business continuance and data protection by allowing for parallel processing. EVM significantly reduces the need for a backup window by allowing for non-disruptive backup/recovery operations.
