Compaq Announces Industry-Leading TPC-C Benchmark with Oracle9i Database

Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ), a global enterprise technology and solutions company, today announced that its AlphaServer™ GS320 has established the TPC-C performance record for a single system configuration. An AlphaServer GS320 system running Tru64™ UNIX and Oracle9i Database Enterprise Edition achieved a record-breaking, 230,533 tpmC @ $56.62/tpmC (transaction per minute) in the industry standard benchmark, outperforming comparable systems from HP, Sun and IBM.

These results demonstrate Compaq's leadership support for Oracle9i Database launched today. Oracle9i Database is the complete database with market-leading speed and scalability that will help customers lower overall computing costs.
