HP Expands Mobile e-Services Bazaar with New Solutions, Members and Canadian Facility

HP Bazaar Fuels Development of Mobile e-Services to Help People Live Life in Motion

TORONTO, April 4, 2001

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HWP) today expanded the worldwide HP Mobile e-Services Bazaar program with the opening of a facility in Toronto, the implementation of new mobility solutions in conjunction with HP Bazaar participants and the addition of 38 members.

The HP Bazaar acts as a catalyst for the creation of mobile e-services by providing an environment for its 400 plus members to incubate new ideas, strategies and technologies. The HP Bazaar aims to proliferate mobile e-services that are automatically customized and delivered to the appliances of people on the go in any wired or wireless environment.

"The HP Bazaar helps line up those elements and provides members with both a physical and a virtual environment to create and develop new mobile solutions."

HP has signed 38 new members to join the HP Bazaar's roster of more than 400 participants worldwide. The new members include 3Com Corporation, A4 Media, Agis, Aldata Oyj, AVM Informatique, Celetratris, Corechange, Cypoint Systems Innovation AB, DoOnGo, EHPT, End2End, Forowap SA, Gadgetspace, Hotsip, Hotline Soccer, Ionicfic Ltd., Inexbee, iWAP, Object/FX, Obvious Solutions (Global) Ltd., PointForce, MobileQ, Nortel Networks, NoWire, Rixxo, RoamInfo, Securesoft, Softtracks, Stocksmart, Syslore, Swapcom, U.S. Wireless, Varetis Germany, Ventrada, Voice Genie, Voice Q, XcelleNet and Zinilin.

Innovation in the Bazaar

The HP Bazaar is a center of innovation for emerging mobile technologies. The following mobile solutions and e-services were announced today or are in development in conjunction with HP Bazaar members:

• HP and Lutris Technology, Inc., announced the delivery of a Linux open source development platform intended to make development and deployment of wireless applications easier and quicker. The platform is based on Lutris' Enhydra 3.5 open source Web and wireless application server and the HP Netserver system. Indiqu, a mobile entertainment network company, is among the first customers.

• HP and Nortel Networks'™ all-in-one network solutions are expected to enable businesses to deliver seamless, high-speed access to personalized, media-rich information via the Internet from any device.

• Ventrada Systems launched Ventrada Remote™ as part of the HP Bazaar. Ventrada Remote allows mobile professionals to use wireless devices to access files located on individual desktop PCs or on corporate servers, which was not possible previously.

• HP and Airgateway have developed a mobile property portal solution for Propbuzz Holdings Limited.

• HP and Silk Technologies have delivered mobile sales force applications with back-end accounting/distribution/inventory software on HP hardware for Field Catering and Science Arts.

• HP and AU Systems have developed wireless solutions for AIS Thailand's Mobile Banking Portal, which currently allows customers to manage account transactions, account transfers and view exchange rates.
