RETROSPECT BACKUP SUPPORTS HP LTO DRIVES Dantz' Backup Software at the Forefront of Products Supporting HP's Advanced LTO Technology ORINDA and PALO ALTO, Calif., December 19, 2000 Dantz Development Corporation and Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP) today announced that Dantz' Retrospect® Backup supports HP Ultrium Linear Tape-Open (LTO) drives, which were introduced in November. The currently shipping versions of Dantz' Retrospect Backup software for Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 and Apple Macintosh already support HP's high-performance Ultrium drives. By employing custom device drivers fully optimized for LTO technology, Retrospect is able to support HP's powerful drives immediately. With a storage capacity of 200* gigabytes (GB) per cartridge and the ability to stream data at 30* MB per second, HP's Ultrium tape drives provide storage administrators with the power and reliability required to protect the rapidly increasing quantity of critical data on today's networks.
