NuGenesis® Technologies Corporation and HP Develop Alliance To Supply Integrated Scientific Data Management System Software and Data Storage Platform

WESTBOROUGH, MA and PALO ALTO, CA, Nov. 30, 2000

NuGenesis Technologies and Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP) today announce an alliance to both expand and enhance scientific data management system (SDMS) options to scientists in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. NuGenesis SDMS software now works with HP-UX to fully leverage the Oracle® platform. This solution comprising NuGenesis SDMS software and HP's line of UNIX® servers and storage platforms gives scientists a complete and secure package for their data management needs.

NuGenesis Technologies provides scientists in the laboratory with new ways to manage and control their data. NuGenesis SDMS software is an application-independent technology that aggregates data from disparate sources into one common format where it can be searched and reused to further scientific knowledge.

"The integration of these two products provides a platform of choice for an enterprise-wide data management solution," reports Bernie Prusaczyk, Vice President of Business Development and Channel Partners at NuGenesis Technologies. "It increases the reliability, availability and scalability of scientific systems in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries."

"The alliance with NuGenesis Technologies adds one more component to HP's total customer experience in Life Sciences. NuGenesis SDMS software together with HP's line of HP-UX servers and storage allows the customers to integrate their instrument data into the industry's performance-leading HP-UX platforms, thus completing the total R&D solution portfolio from research to FDA submission," said David Valenta, market development manager, HP Technical Computing Division.

HP offers scientists a full line of highly scalable UNIX servers. The HP technical server family spans a wide range of price and performance points to meet any research need. The Itanium-ready N-class server is a rack-mounted 8-processor system capable of 4 systems in a rack. The recently introduced top-of-the-line HP Superdome is the fastest server in the UNIX market. Featuring multiprocessors, high-performance memory systems, large memory capacity, and high bandwidth I/O, HP technical servers provide unparalleled performance and capabilities.
