HP ResourceLink Teams With ConAgra Foods, Alliant Foodservice, the American Culinary Federation and America's Second Harvest to Promote "ChefsGiving"

HP and Three Major Children's Feeding Programs Work With Renowned Chefs to Focus Attention on Children's Nutrition During Thanksgiving Holiday

PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 22, 2000

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP) today announced its ResourceLink.org division is partnering with HP customers ConAgra Foods and Alliant Foodservice, the American Culinary Federation (ACF) and America's Second Harvest (A2H) to produce ChefsGiving, a Nov. 22 nationwide event to provide special Thanksgiving meals to children in Orlando, Fla., New Orleans, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Prominent chefs involved with ACF's Chef and Child Foundation will prepare the dinners using food donated by ConAgra Foods and Alliant Foodservice. ConAgra Foods and Alliant Foodservice provide hundreds of thousands of pounds of food to America's Second Harvest on an annual basis.

Through its Feeding Children Better Foundation, ConAgra Foods is a national sponsor of the Kids Cafe program based at many A2H agency locations. The program provides children with a hot, nutritious afterschool meal in a safe place. The Chef and Child Foundation, Kids Cafe and the Feeding Children Better Foundation are dedicated to the improvement of child nutrition and the elimination of hunger in the United States.

HP's ResourceLink, the event sponsor, provides food manufacturers with an Internet-based e-service that speeds donation of first-quality and surplus products to charitable organizations such as the A2H's nationwide network of food banks. A free service to suppliers and charities, ResourceLink has facilitated the donation of 15 million pounds of food to charitable organizations.
