HP Board Declares Regular Dividend, Announces Increase in Share Repurchase Programs PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 20, 2000 The board of directors of Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP) today declared a regular cash dividend of 8 cents per share on the company's common stock. The dividend, the first in HP's fiscal year 2001, is payable on Jan. 10, 2001, to shareholders of record as of Dec. 20, 2000. As of Oct. 31, 2000, the end of the company's fiscal year, HP had approximately 2 billion shares of common stock outstanding. The board also authorized increases of $1 billion each for the systematic repurchase of shares to offset dilution from the issuance of shares under company employee benefit programs, and for opportunistic share repurchases.
