HP LaserJet 3200 All-in-one Enables Fast, Simple Communication with Scan-to-Internet Features

All-in-one Helps Small Businesses and Telecommuters Save Time, Space and Money

Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE: HWP) today announced the HP LaserJet 3200 and 3200se printer/fax/copier/scanner all-in-ones. The new products not only deliver the robust, reliable features customers have come to expect from an HP LaserJet printer, it also brings a dimension to the Internet that is sometimes lost in the high-tech world -- simplicity.

"The HP LaserJet 3200 printer/fax/copier/scanner is more than just an all-in-one machine; it's an on-ramp to the Internet," said Linda Crozier, marketing manager for HP's Personal LaserJet Solutions. "With the HP LaserJet 3200 all-in-one, customers who may have limited experience with the Net can use the one-touch, color scan-to-Web or scan-to-e-mail feature to get their documents online."

"Before we had the HP LaserJet 3200 all-in-one we would have to scan a document, save it to another file, write an e-mail, and then attach it to the e-mail," said Anthony Carson, an electronics technician for BioMark, a manufacturing company. "Now we just insert it in the all-in-one and away it goes. It's a great shortcut for us."

The new product replaces the popular HP LaserJet 3150 all-in-one and sets a new standard in fully integrated Internet appliances by combining a stellar networking infrastructure with the e-services users need to stay connected in today's world. For example, in-box links to services such as Stamps.com and Mimeo.com, allow users to stamp business correspondence right at their desktops or deliver printed and bound documents anywhere in the U.S. overnight.

With its small footprint, multitasking capabilities, reliability and ease of use, the HP LaserJet 3200 all-in-one is expected to appeal to the growing number of small businesses, satellite offices and telecommuters. Gartner Group estimates there will be more than 137 million telecommuters by 2003. ¹ Market research firm IDC, says small businesses and home offices are on the upswing, too, with 8.3 million small businesses and 46.3 million home offices expected in the United States by 2004. ²

• 1200 dots-per-inch printing;

• 600 pixels-per-inch color scanning;

• one-touch scan-to-e-mail;

• one-touch scan-to-Web;

• PCL 6 and PCL 5e;

• three seconds-per-page faxing;

• up to 275 pages of fax storage

• 8MB standard memory, upgradeable to 72MB;

• USB and parallel connections;

• networkable; and

• 7,000 pages-per-month duty cycle.

The HP LaserJet 3200 and 3200se printer/fax/copier/scanner all-in-ones are currently available in the U.S. and have an estimated U.S. street price of $599³. They ship with drivers to support Windows(R) 95, Windows 98, Windows NT(R) 4.0 and Windows 2000. Support for Linux, Windows 3.1x and MS-DOS(R) is available at http://www.hp.com. The HP LaserJet 3200 all-in-one is supported by HP's one-year Express Exchange limited warranty and flexible support options with HP's Customer Care program.
