You to the Power of 12 – U12

Do you have clever ideas?
Do you need a creative outlet?
Do you want the recognition your talent deserves?

Then, get your pencil poised and your camera ready. Because now’s your chance to tout your talent in your ad for HP.

It’s all part of You to the Power of 12 – U12, a MOFILM User Generated Content Competition, which kicked off in mid-April.

Hosted by writer, director, actor and producer Spike Lee, the competition gives people around the world the chance to develop a video about HP and some of the world’s leading brands. The competition is designed to showcase global talent at the Cannes Lions 2009 Advertising Festival June 21-27.

It’s a great opportunity for emerging filmmakers and artists or nearly anyone who wants to spin a phrase, roll the camera and realize what could be the dream of a lifetime.

What’s it all about?

The Cannes Lions 2009 Advertising Festival is considered by many to be the “Oscars of the Advertising World.”

As part of the event, MOFILM – a pioneer in user-generated “for the people, by the people” advertising campaigns and films – is giving creative people all over the world the chance to develop video ads for 12 of the world’s leading brands. HP is among the popular brand owners participating.

How do you enter?

Register at www.mofilm.com non-hp site
Read the HP brand brief for guidelines.
Create your video ad (three minutes or less).
Submit your entry at www.mofilm.com non-hp site by June 8, 2009 at 8:00 am GMT. (Enter as many videos as you’d like.)

When will the winners be announced?

June 15th Brand winners. HP selects three entries best representing the HP brand. Decisions based on creativity, production value and best “fit” with brand briefing guidelines.

June 25th Top three finalists. MOFILM panel announces top three finalists among entries for all brands.

June 26th Grand prize winner. Announced at awards ceremony at Cannes Lions 2009 Advertising Festival. June 21-27, 2009, South of France.


What can you win?


Prizes Eligible winners can be awarded more than $120,000 in prizes, ranging from HP computer equipment and peripherals to travel opportunities. 2

Grand prize winner can visit the set of Spike Lee’s next production 3

Top three finalists will receive an expenses-paid trip to Cannes Lions 2009. 4

Exposure Selected ads viewable on MOFILM contest site, showcased in a premier location at the Cannes venue and discussed in an event session, led by Spike Lee.
