Now, it's easier than ever to green up and gear up for savings. With HP, you can make use of passed-their-prime products — giving them new meaning and new value.

If you've got computing equipment that may be too good to toss, yet too old to keep up with demands, it's time to put it to better use. HP offers several ways to handle the aging equipment in your home or office through earth- and community-friendly options that benefit you, your company or others:

  • Trade in used, qualified HP and non-HP equipment and upgrade to new HP equipment.
  • Receive payment for selected equipment you no longer want or need with leasing programs through HP Financial Services.
  • Capture value of qualified commercial assets through HP’s Asset Recovery Program.
  • Protect your company's information through HP’s disk wiping services.
  • Donate equipment to others who may not otherwise be able to afford technology.
  • Join the world’s fight against electronic waste by selling or donating your equipment through our partnership with eBay’s Rethink initiative.
  • Responsibly recycle unwanted hardware or spent HP printing supplies through HP’s recycling programs.
  • Leasing HP equipment removes the worries of dispositioning equipment at the end of use.

It's time to get your aging IT assets out of the storage closet and into use once again.

Together, we can clean up the earth, one closet at a time.

Tell me how to tap into the hidden value of my old IT assets

Sometimes value can be measured in dollars; sometimes in the worth old technology can bring to people less fortunate than ourselves. HP helps you reap both financial and personal rewards through trade-in, donation and other programs that free old equipment to bring new value.

How does HP measure up?

HP made significant progress towards reducing the environmental impact of our products and operations last year. Here are some highlights:

  • HP refurbished and resold over 2.5 million computers last year.

  • We made progress towards our goal of recycling 1 billion pounds of electronic products and supplies by the end of 2007, by recycling 140 million pounds, nearly 17% more than in 2004.

  • More than 11,500 tons (25.5 million pounds) of HP LaserJet and inkjet print cartridges were returned and recycled through Planet Partners.

  • We significantly reduced total use of packaging material in the Europe/Middle East/Africa region between 2004 and 2005, while revenue in the region increased by 10%.

  • We achieved an 87% solid waste landfill diversion rate, exceeding our goal by 3%, and reduced solid waste volumes by 7%, hazardous waste volumes by 5% and natural gas use by 1.3%.

Over 90 HP sites in the Americas will host Earth Day celebrations and activities designed to increase awareness of HP's environmental programs.
