Protect your data with HP Mobile Data Protection System 3D. HP has improved upon the HP Mobile Data Protection System, which mounts the hard drive directly to the notebook frame to help reduce the transmission of shock to the hard drive by adding a three-axis digital accelerometer. The accelerometer acts as a motion detector that notifies the system of sudden motion and sends a command to the hard drive to temporarily stop the drive, helping to protect data in the event of impact.
