HP Bulgaria has won the "Investor of the Year 2011" award for its Global Delivery Center Project from the InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA) in the category "Investor in jobs with high added value." Borislav Stefanov, executive director of the IBA, personally presented the award at an official ceremony attended by the Bulgarian political and economic elite.
This prestigious award is decided by an expert jury that consists of professionals with in-depth knowledge on the Bulgarian market. All companies with serious and sustainable investments that stimulate the Bulgarian economy were eligible to participate in the contest.

PC Magazine Names HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter Editor's Choice

PC Magazine has given the HP Officejet Pro 8100 ePrinter its Editor's Choice award, calling the device "a prime example of a new generation of inkjets that can go head to head with color lasers on speed while beating them on price."

HP ENVY 14 Spectre Earns CNET Best of CES Award

HP Tops ClimateCounts.org Company Scorecard

HP has ranked No. 1 in the electronics sector of the 2011 Climate Counts Company Scorecard. Climate Counts scores the world's largest companies on their climate impact to spur corporate climate responsibility and conscious consumption.
HP scored 83 out of 100 points on this year's scorecard, which measures how well companies are preparing for a low-carbon future by committing to emissions reductions. In addition, HP was placed in the new top-tier "striding" category, which highlights companies that are "striding towards a low-carbon future."

HP has been named a leader in the latest Gartner "Magic Quadrant for Midrange and High-End Modular Disk Arrays."
An independent provider of IT and research advice, Gartner's latest Magic Quadrant for Midrange and High-End Modular Disk Arrays assessed technology providers on their "ability to execute" and "completeness of vision."
This 2011 Gartner Midrange and High-End Modular Disk Arrays included HP 3PAR Storage Systems, HP LeftHand Storage Systems, and HP Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) Storage Systems.

HP Wins Telecom Asia Readers' Choice Cloud Innovation of the Year Award

HP Leads in Greenpeace Electronics Guide

HP has unseated Nokia to claim the top spot in the Greenpeace Guide to Greener Electronics, scoring 5.9 points out of a possible 10. Greenpeace praised HP's reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, its criteria for suppliers, its advocacy for climate legislation, and a procurement policy excluding paper from companies associated with illegal logging and deforestation.

HP Named Leader in Midrange and High-End Modular Disk Arrays

HP has been ranked No. 2 on Computerworld's 2011 list of the Top Green-IT Organizations, moving up four positions from its 2010 ranking. Industry analyst firm Gartner Inc. has named HP a leader in its 2011 Magic Quadrant for Managed Print Services (MPS) Worldwide report. HP was evaluated on its "completeness of vision" as well as its "ability to execute." Gartner classifies leaders as organizations that "provide MPS to a wide range of customers, including the largest and most geographically dispersed, so they must demonstrate a truly global reach. Interbrand, a leading brand consultancy, has named HP to its inaugural listing of the 50 Best Global Green Brands. HP ranked the highest among electronics companies and placed fifth overall, after Toyota, 3M, Siemens, and Johnson & Johnson.
In its profile of HP, Interbrand highlights initiatives such as the Unlocking Your Energy events, touts the company's commitment to designing data centers around local energy with the Wynyard data center and the Eco-POD centers, references the EcoSolutions store, and includes HP's commitment to energy efficiency and removing toxins from products.
Companies were ranked based on consumer perceptions of environmentally sustainable activities in 10 global markets and actual environment performance secured through publically available information and data.

HP executives named among Fortune’s Most Powerful Women in Business

HP President and Chief Executive Officer Meg Whitman placed No. 9 on Fortune’s annual listing of the most powerful women in business. She last appeared on the list in 2007 in the No. 3 slot. Fortune cites Whitman’s return to the business world after a brief time in politics as reason for her reappearance on the list.
Managing Director of HP India Neelam Dhawan also appeared in the ranking, landing No. 35 on the global list, up one from last year.

HP Recognized for Excellence in Service Operations for Fourth Consecutive Year

This coveted third-party industry recognition includes a comprehensive evaluation of customer-centric phone, field service, and web service operations. Auditors from TSIA compared HP support operations against nearly 300 industry best practices, including executive commitment, talent management, support tools and technology, and operation metrics.

HP has placed sixth on the Global Software Top 100 list of largest software companies in the world. The list contains the top companies in the software industry, ranked by annual software revenues. Software revenues are defined as revenues coming from sale of licenses, maintenance, subscription and support. Revenues from custom software development are excluded.

HP Ranks as Top Tech Brand of 2011 for Computer Hardware

Harris Interactive, a market research firm, has announced the top technology brands of the year in four categories: mobile phones, consumer electronics, gaming, and computer hardware, where HP was ranked the highest, beating out competitors Apple and Dell.
The Harris Poll EquiTrend study was conducted online among 25,099 U.S. consumers ages 15 and older between January 11 and 27, 2011, in which 1,273 brands were rated in 53 different categories.

HP Brazil wins GREENBEST Award

HP Brazil won the GREENBEST Award in the technology category. The winner was the MFP HP F4480, the only printing product that participated in the last voting stage. The printer is made with up to 50% recycled plastic; it has the Energy Star certificate, which qualifies equipment that contributes to reduce the power consumption.
In the package of this printer and of other models, the materials used are pulp packers made with papers used during the quality testing of printers manufactured in Brazil. Additionally the F4480 uses HP60 cartridges, made with up to 70% of recycled material from other HP cartridges in their composition and water-based ink, which does not impact the environment.

The ClimateCounts.org Green Watching campaign has teamed up with DoSomething.org’s Green Your School Challenge to get teens across the country to say “Thank You” to HP for its continuous climate action.
HP was at the top of Climate Count’s electronics scorecard, receiving 85 out of 100 points this year. HP has given strong support to comprehensive federal action on climate change that “would lead to market-wide reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and the growth of renewable energy capacity,” Climate Counts reports.

Human Resource Executive has ranked HP No. 17 on its list of “Most Admired” companies. HP was singled out because of its focus on employee engagement with programs like the Voice of the Workforce and a clear Standards of Business Conduct.
To compile its list of "Most Admired" companies, HRE partnered with Fortune to ask 4,170 executives, directors, and analysts to rate companies in their own industry on nine criteria, from investment value to social responsibility, and identify the 10 companies they admired most, focusing on HR-related issues.

InfoWorld Names HP c7000 Best Blade System

InfoWorld has named the HP BladeSystem c7000 the Best Blade System in its 2011 Technology of the Year Awards. HP edged out competitors IBM and Dell for the title.
InfoWorld writes, “The HP BladeSystem c7000 was not only first in features and options, but beat out systems from Dell and IBM due in large part to its scalability… HP clearly understands that the future of computing, if it's going to rely on big data and high-volume processing, requires big pipes.”
InfoWorld's annual Technology of the Year Awards recognize the top 10 technologies and the most innovative products on the IT landscape that made the greatest impact during the past year. They also identify the products that best exemplify the implementation of those technologies. There are 16 categories that span CPUs to Virtualization to Best Application Platform.

HP China Awarded 2010 Top Corporate Citizen by People.com.cn

HP China was named a 2010 Top 10 Corporate Citizen by People.com.cn for its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). Chen Juan attended the award ceremony and delivered remarks on behalf of HP, saying that the award is surely a great affirmation for HP China’s efforts and contribution in CSR for the past 25 years.
In order to encourage enterprises to better perform social responsibility in China, People.com.cn, the website of the newspaper People’s Daily, held the award conference, which was themed “Responsibility in China.”
The award ceremony was held on January 8, 2011 and was attended by senior officials from the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the chief editor of People’s Daily, executives from local and international enterprises, and reporters from other national news outlets. The event was also broadcast live.
