HP believes education is the keystone to social progress and prosperity. We are working to give educators, students and young entrepreneurs the knowledge and skills to address urgent challenges in their communities and around the world.
HP partners with leading organizations on programs that promote collaboration and drive innovation in education through innovative uses of technology.
Health is a key priority for governments all over the world. The quality of healthcare determines the quality of people’s lives. Millions of people do not have access to the very basics of health care services, and in many countries health services are simply not delivering quality care in an effective and efficient manner. Even in the countries where health services are strong, the cost structure is unsustainable for the patients, providers and payers.
Generally speaking, the health sector significantly lags other industries/sectors in the leverage of information technology. HP is addressing these challenges in our Social Innovation approach to health. Our goal is to drive structural, systemic improvements in Health Access and Delivery at the system level that will have a significant and sustainable impact.
HP's social innovation approach in Health has two main pillars:
Health Access and System Strengthening
Acceleration of e-Health solutions
Health Access and System Strengthening
Our primary objective is to support transformation in coordination with governments in emerging markets and fundamentally improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health delivery in close cooperation with strategic partners. We collaborate to architect health system core process standards and improve efficiency and effectiveness of health systems through adoption of open standards. Health access and system strengthening can dramatically improve quality of health services in emerging and developing countries.
Acceleration of e-Health solutions
Our aim is to improve access and delivery of health services by accelerating the implementation of e-Health solution to underserved communities and organizations. Based on the results from the WHO Global Observatory for e-Health, there is significant demand for the provision of generic tools to support the clinical and administrative functions of health care services. This included systems of varying degrees of complexity in both primary and secondary care such as electronic health records, patient administration, hospital information systems and general practitioner information systems. Implementing a wide variety of HP e-Health solutions like Digital Hospital in high need communities and markets can create significant improvement of health service quality.
