Overview of legislation

Virginia's Statewide Electronic Recycling Law was signed into law in 2008 and became effective July 1, 2009. The law requires certain electronic manufacturers to submit a recovery plan which shall enable a consumer to recycle computer equipment without paying a separate fee at the time of recycling.
