Energy efficiency

Flex Your Power HP Cupertino received a Flex Your Power Award in the Energy Efficiency category for its data center efficiency improvements (December 2008)

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) honored HP for conserving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. (October 2008)

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) HP received a SmartWay Excellence Award from the U.S. EPA for its leadership in conserving energy and lowering greenhouse gas emissions from its surface transportation supply chain. (October 2008)

The Department of Energy (DOE) awarded HP Aguadilla (Puerto Rico) the Energy Savings Assessment award for making progress in implementing assessment recommendations to save energy and cut costs. (June 2008)

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recently recognized HP’s Corvallis, Oregon, site with a "Performance Track Outreach Award,” given annually to companies that demonstrate excellence in both their environmental stewardship as well as their outreach to employees and external organizations. Uptime Institute. HP received a Green Enterprise IT Award, which honors organizations that are pioneering energy-efficiency improvements in their data center operations. (April 2008)

Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT). HP’s entire personal workstation line has become the first in the category to achieve a “Gold” listing –- the highest rating products can achieve (April 2008)

Corporate Knights & Innovest. HP is on the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World list for positive impact on society and the environment (January 2008)

Reuse and recycling

Analyst Firm Gives HP High Marks for Reuse, Recycling Capabilities. IDC has recognized HP as a certified IT Asset Disposal vendor, noting that business customers can have confidence in HP’s ability to safely and securely decommission IT assets they no longer need — whether made by HP or another manufacturer. (July 2008)

Society of Plastics Engineers. HP has been named the recipient of the Dan Eberhardt Environmental Stewardship Award for its closed loop system for plastics recycling. (March 2008)

Global citizenship 

Hong Kong Council of Social Service. HP received the esteemed Caring Company award for the fifth consecutive year, recognizing organizations that demonstrate outstanding corporate citizenship. (February 2009)

AccountAbility. HP ranked 11th overall in the Accountability Rating, a global index that evaluates how well the world's 100 largest companies account for their impacts on economies, society and the environment (November 2008)

Imprensa magazine. HP Brazil was named one of the top 50 companies for sustainability according to research conducted by Media B and published by Imprensa magazine. (May 2008)

Gerente magazine. HP Venezuela was named one of the most admired companies in the country for its corporate social responsibility programs. (May 2008)

Gestao & RH Editora. HP Brazil made the list of 100 Best Companies in Corporate Citizenship for 2008. (April 2008)

Privacy 

HP Named Most Trusted Company in Privacy. In TRUSTe's annual Most Trusted Company for Privacy analysis for 2007, HP ranked No. 1, ahead of second place Intuit and third place AOL. (January 2008)

Social Investment 

Charities @ Work. HP Venezuela received the 2008 Leadership Award for outstanding philanthropic spirit and commitment to employee giving. (May 2008)

HP Wins Charities' 2008 National Leadership Award. HP has been selected to receive the 2008 National Leadership Award by Charities @ Work, an alliance of four non-profit federations - including America's Charities, Community Health Charities, Earth Share and Global Impact - all of which were represented in HP's annual U.S. employee giving campaign. (April 2008)

HP Houston Blood Drives Receive President's Volunteer Service Award. HP Houston Blood Drives, held five times per year, have been selected as a "Gold Level Winner" by the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center. (January 2008)

Education Initiative. HP Egypt received this award for its contribution to the country's education initiative. (January 2008)

Supply Chain 

AMR Research released the 2008 "Supply Chain Top 25" report at its annual Supply Chain Executive Conference and HP was ranked 18th (up from #21 in 2007). (June 2008)

Institute for Supply Management (ISM), HP earned an ISM R. Gene Richter Award for Leadership and Innovation in Supply Management. (May 2008)

DiversityInc, HP was recognized among the Top 10 Companies for Supplier Diversity for fourth consecutive year. (April 2008)
