HP Applauds Bipartisan “America COMPETES Act” Statement by David Isaacs, HP Director of Federal Government Affairs WASHINGTON, March 7, 2007
"HP strongly supports the ‘America COMPETES Act’ “HP thanks the sponsors of this bill, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), among many others, for their efforts to strengthen our nation’s workforce and allow American businesses to innovate. “Global competitiveness for America and U.S. businesses will be sustained only if there is collaboration in addressing this challenge. U.S. economic security cannot be secured by the private sector alone; it will require a team effort of the government and private sector. This Act is an important step in that direction. “The America COMPETES Act will strengthen three fundamental areas critical to America’s competitiveness: education, research and innovation infrastructure.
