HP Supports Senate Republican High Tech Task Force Agenda
Statement by David Isaacs, HP Director of Government Affairs
For Immediate Release: April 25, 2007
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 25, 2007 –“HP supports the agenda released today by the Senate Republican High Tech Task Force, and is grateful for the leadership of Chairman Smith and the members of the Task Force. Their efforts to maintain and grow America’s competitiveness and innovation in today’s global economy are commendable.
“This agenda demonstrates the Task Force’s clear understanding of issues important to the technology industry, and its commitment to turning these goals into reality. The Senators on this Task Force have created a solid set of agenda items that will help improve the quality of life through technology, strengthen the economy and get rid of barriers to innovation and trade.
“HP is especially pleased to see critical issues such as meaningful patent reform, the research and development (R&D) tax credit and immigration reform relating to highly-skilled, highly-educated workers promoted in this agenda. Today’s agenda unveiling is an important step on the road to addressing these challenges as we seek to keep America competitive and innovative.
“HP looks forward to working with the High Tech Task Force on these important issues, and is eager to help move this agenda forward.”
