HP Welcomes Employment Non-Discrimination Act
by Kristy Skupa Sternhell, HP Director of Congressional Affairs
For Immediate Release: April 24, 2007
WASHINGTON, D.C., April 24, 2007 –“HP is pleased that Congressman Frank (D-MA) has introduced the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which would extend basic job protections to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans. The principles this bill fosters are consistent with our corporate principles in treating all employees with fairness and respect.
“HP is strongly committed to attracting, developing, promoting and retaining a diverse workforce to better serve our increasingly diverse customers. We also strive to provide an inclusive, flexible work environment that values differences, motivates employees to contribute their best, and is an open and safe place to work.
“HP has implemented its own non-discrimination policy to make our workplace values of fairness clear and transparent to employees, and we believe it has affected our bottom line for the better.
“The Employment Non-Discrimination Act is an appropriate, no-cost measure that will have a positive impact on our country’s ability to compete. We look forward to working with Congressman Frank and other Congressional leaders toward successful passage.”
