This 2-hour seminar, designed for experienced c-Class blade administrators, explores some of the more advanced Blade technology and tools. HP BladeSystem Virtual Connect simplifies your server-to-network connectivity, while maximizing the potential and redundancy of your infrastructure. The BladeSystem Flex-10 technology expands the traditional 1Gb single NIC port to 10GB, plus it enables up to four individual NICs on the server-side of each Flex-10 port. » Industry Standard Architecture and Technology

This training validates the knowledge and skills of advanced IT technicians. It is designed to be a vendor-neutral certification for individuals with 18-24 months of experience with Industry Standard Server Architecture (ISSA) technology. The technical knowledge areas covered by this training include RAID, SCSI and multiple CPUs, as well as capabilities with server issues, including disaster recovery.

 

» HP Thin Client Imaging and Operating Systems

This 3-day course provides an overview of the HP Thin Client solution and an opportunity to work with the thin clients. It also allows the students to capture and deploy and gain experience with each thin client operating system. The course presents a summary of the remote computing functions and gives the criteria for matching clients to customer requirements. The course also presents the appropriate identification and utilization of technology for a customer demonstration and gives detailed information about each supported operating system and client implementation.

HP Blade PCs and Blade Workstations are Remote Client Solutions that provide end users with fully functional and personalized desktops delivered via a connection to a blade in a centralized data center.

Even though it is remotely located, each end user is given a dedicated blade to help ensure they each get the consistent performance they need. End users can access their personalized environments, applications, and data from almost anywhere they can connect to their network.

This instructor led course provides a technical experience of the HP Blade PC and Blade Workstation end-to-end solutions, including the PC and Workstation blade hardware, the client devices to connect to the blade, the enclosure infrastructure, and the accompanying software such as HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) and HP Session Allocation Manager (SAM). This course consists of two parts:

HP Blade PC-Workstation Essentials Part 1 (HG817S 2 day course) consists of two full days of live online training on the solution, and is held in the HP Virtual Rooms with a lecture only delivery format.

The 5 days instructor-led HG818S HP Blade PC-Workstation Essentials Part II (this course) consists of extensive hands-on labs that provide practice installing, configuring, and using the solutions. » Advanced HP Remote Graphics Software (RGS) Overview WBT

This self-paced CD/WBT provides servicing and support information for HP Remote Graphics Software. Topics include the features, architecture, and functionality of the product. Information is also provided on diagnostic indicators and on troubleshooting. After completing this course, you should be able to set up, configure, and support HP Remote Graphics Software Sender and HP Remote Graphics Software Receiver. You should also be able to discuss the performance of the software with customers and know how to escalate a call when necessary.

 

» HP Virtual Connect and Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager (VCEM)

This 2-day instructor led training course covers how Virtual Connect integrates with c-Class BladeSystem technology. It covers the configuration and use of Virtual Connect (VC) Ethernet and Fibre Channel technology. Each topic will involve lab scenarios that will reflect real-world scenarios. Students will configure the Virtual Connect Ethernet and Virtual Connect Fiber channel modules.

 

» VMware Infrastructure 3.5: What's New v3.5 Workshop

This 1-day workshop focuses on the primary new features of ESX 3.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5. It is a lab orientated session. This 1-day course is an excellent follow-on to the VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3: Installation and Configuration course (HB513S). It provides students with the skills needed to effectively deploy and manage the VMware Virtual Infrastructure using ProLiant Essentials software.

 

» HP Insight Control Managing and Monitoring through HP SIM

This 5-day course equips students with the skills and knowledge to configure the management and monitoring capabilities of HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM). Students will spend the majority of the time learning to use HP Systems Insight Manager for managing systems and performing collections, along with inventory and fault management. The course will also cover the integration of various options within HP Insight Control suite for performance, patch management and HP BladeSystem management. Lab exercises for the course will be done with remote equipment using the HP Virtual Lab.

 

» HP BladeSystem administration: c-Class

In this 3-day course, students will learn how to successfully deploy and manage HP BladeSystem servers. A brief architecture overview will ensure students understand the components of the HP Bladesystem solutions. The system administration components will provide coverage of IP networking, HP Onboard Administrator, HP Virtual Connect and network storage. The course then focuses on the HP BladeSystem c-Class and p-Class server deployment and management using the software applications and tools from Insight Control Environment.

» HP Insight Control Server Deployment

This 3-day course provides students with the skills needed to effectively deploy and update ProLiant servers using HP Insight Control. This course is also applicable to ProLiant customers using the Rapid Deployment Pack (RDP) product.

 

» HP Insight Foundation

This 2-day course provides an introduction to the HP Insight Foundation products. Students will be presented with an overview of the HP Insight Foundation products including topics on ProLiant system setup using HP SmartStart, server monitoring with HP Systems Insight Manager, software updates with HP Smart Update Manager. Students will then be presented with an overview of the installation process, will work with labs on the installation and perform activities around product deployment and configuration and use.

» VMware Infrastructure 3: Skills for operators

This 2-day, hands-on training course explores managing VMware infrastructure 3 operations and configuration, and covers VMware ESX Server and VMware VirtualCenter.

 

» VMware capacity planner

This 2-day course trains consultants and systems engineers to use VMware proprietary tools to collect and view system, inventory, and performance data for use in consolidation, capacity planning, and performance tuning projects. Additionally, this course shows partners how to use these same tools to increase profit margins. This course specifically addresses Capacity Planner 2.5.0.

» VMware Infrastructure 3: Deploy, Secure and Analyze V3.5

This 4-day hands-on course covers mass deployment of ESX Server hosts using scripted installation, configuration and use of VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB), VMware Updated Manager and security features. The course conveys skills for management of ESX Server hosts using local CLI utilities, Troubleshooting tips are presented throughout. The course has been updated to reflect ESX Server 3.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5, and focuses on ESX Server 3.5 rather than ESX Server 3i.


» VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure V3.5

This 4-day hands-on course explores VMware Infrastructure 3, which consists of VMware ESX Server and VMware VirtualCenter, and has been updated to reflect version 3.5. Upon completion of this course, you can take the examination to become a VMware Certified Professional. Troubleshooting guidance, best practices and lab exercises are interspersed throughout the course. This course is 50% lecture and 50% hands-on lab.

» Consolidated Client Infrastructure – configuration and management

This 5-day hands-on course provides an overview of CCI (version 1.5) to include a summary of the functionality and technology introduced with the CCI solution, considerations for implementing and supporting CCI, and where to go for more information.

In this course, students will get the hands-on experience to build a Small Reference Design (SRD) in labs and validate their SRD to make the connection from the Thin Client access device to as HP Blade PC. The students will:

  • Review and/or design a CCI solution in a production environment
  • Install, set up, and configure CCI components
  • Provide support to isolate and resolve problems with components of the CCI solution

» HP BladeSystem solution I: Planning and deployment

In this 3-day course, you will learn how to identify, deploy and manage HP BladeSystem server blades. You will also learn how to connect the HP BladeSystem server blades to network storage devices. Students will troubleshoot common HP BladeSystem problems. The course also includes an overview of the BladeSystem c-Class server and storage blades and an overview of the tools and solutions applicable to the c-Class.
