The HP Certified program gives you an opportunity to validate the HP-UX administration skills that you have learned in our HP-UX curriculum courses and your time on the job. The first tier of HP-UX certification is to earn recognition as a "Certified System Administrator", the second tier is that of "Certified System Engineer" (CSE). To receive HP-UX certifications, you must pass the requisite exams and then apply to the HP certified professional program for recognition. Details on how to apply may be viewed at HPCP Americas exam registration procedures.

Candidates seeking recognition as a "HP-UX Certified System Administrator" (CSA) must meet the following prerequisites:

  • Have passed the "HP0-A01: HP-UX 11i v3 CSA" (HP0-A01). This HP0-A01 Exam replaces the previous HP0-091 Exam. For Active Exams list, view the HPCP web site link below.

Candidates seeking "HP-UX Certified System Engineer" (CSE) recognition must meet the following criteria:

  • Have passed HP0-A01 and obtained their HP-UX CSA
  • Have advanced-level knowledge of and 2-3 years of hands-on experience administrating HP-UX systems
  • Select and pass the exams from one of the following examination tracks:
    • "HP0-A02: HP-UX 11i v3 CSE - Advanced Administration" exam (HP0-A02) and "HP-UX advanced administration - high availability" exam (HP0-914)

      OR

    • "HP0-A02: HP Certified Professional - HP-UX 11i v3 Advanced System Administration" exam (HP0-A02) and "HP-UX advanced administration - Virtual Server Environment  (VSE) " exam  (HP0-090)

      OR

    • "HP0-A02: HP Certified Professional - HP-UX 11i v3 Advanced System Administration" exam (HP0-A02) and "HP-UX 11i v3 CSE - Networking and Security - HP-UX 11i v" exam (HP0-P17)
