Course overview

The HP Indigo WS4xxx Digital Press; Service and Repair for Service Engineers training program is a hands on course. The course focuses on the operation, interaction and theory of function of the mechanical, electronic, process, pneumatic, fluid, heat transfer, PLC, motion control and substrate transport systems on the HP Indigo WS4xxx Digital Press. Participants will learn how to apply theoretical knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance skills to resolve problems, install software patches and implement hardware field change orders.


Prerequisites

A person who meets requirements for the course has a background of:

  • Performing repair, troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance on complex electromechanical devices and computers
  • Has successfully completed HP Indigo 3550/5500 Digital Press; Service and Repair for New Service Engineers HF850S and HP Indigo 3050/3500/5000 Digital Press; Service and Repair for 5500 Service Engineers HH660S
  • English comprehension at a technical level, appropriate for comprehending the course materials
  • Students will need to bring their laptop to class

Audience

HP Indigo digital press customer engineers and engineers from HP Indigo distributors who will be required to perform service routines that include repair, troubleshooting, corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance on the HP Indigo WS4xxx Digital Press.


Course Objectives

At the completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Fully understand the operation and interaction of the major subassemblies
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and electronic problems
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and pneumatic sub systems
  • Properly observe safety precautions to diagnose problems and perform repairs
  • Be able to perform mandatory preventive maintenance functions at prescribed intervals
  • Perform a system back-up and full software installation
  • Will be able to improve work flow and utilization of HP Indigo digital presses
  • Perform installations and FCO's as required
  • Instruct customers in better usage of HP Indigo digital presses
