Seminar overview

This online seminar introduces students to some of the important security tools that are now included with the HP-UX 11i operating system. The class focuses on tools included with the operating system, that are easy to deploy, and that dramatically enhance HP-UX system security. Specific topics covered include:

• Securing User Accounts with Standard Mode Security Enhancements
• Securing Software with Software Assistant and executable_stack
• Securing the Network with IPFilter
• Hardening HP-UX Hosts with HP Bastille
• Detecting Intrusions with HP Host Intrusion Detection Software (HIDS)

Prerequisites

• 1 year of HP-UX system administration experience
