Course overview

This 5-day instructor-led course provides the essential knowledge such that storage administrators can install, configure and manage HP OpenView Storage Data Protector. The hands-on lab exercises re-enforce the theory sessions to ensure a thorough understanding of backup and recovery concepts, the functionality of the software and its application to typical storage implementations.


Prerequisites

This course is designed for students at the system administrator level.

  • For HP-UX, this course requires HP-UX System and Network Administration I (H3064S) or equivalent experience
    • Recommended: HP-UX System and Network Administration II
      (H3065S) (for students who will be working in the
      UNIX environment)
    • Recommended: POSIX Shell Programming(H4322S) is strongly
      recommended, but is not a prerequisite
  • For Windows, this level equates to Microsoft Windows Server administration or equivalent experience
  • For Solaris, system and network administration training or equivalent experience

Audience

  • Storage and system administrators using HP OpenView Storage Data Protector version 6 on HP-UX, Windows or Solaris platforms
