Course overview
This 2-day course provides students with advanced HP Insight Control Server Deployment 6.2 knowledge and skills, such as advanced deployment techniques, using multiple partitions, and deployment of Microsoft Hyper-V, Linux RPM packages, and VMware ESX.
Prerequisites
HP recommends that students have attained these credentials or levels of experience before taking this course:
It is assumed that the student already has a basic HP Insight Control Server Deployment experience, which can be gained by completing the HP Insight Control Server Deployment Foundations course (HE645S)
Familiarity with general networking terminology and basic network security concepts
An understanding of these operating systems: Microsoft Windows Server 2008, and Either Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS/ES or SuSE Linux Enterprise Server
Familiarity with these server virtualization solutions: Microsoft Hyper-V, and VMware ESX 4.0 or newer
Following courses also recommended:
HE646S: HP BladeSystem Administration: c-class or equivalent ProLiant or Blade server knowledge
HK756S: HP Systems Insight Essentials or equivalent knowledge
The primary audience for this course is administrators, engineers, and consultants who will:
Perform advanced deployment and management tasks in a deployment environment based on HP Insight Control Server Deployment 6.2
Perform HP Insight Control Server Deployment 6.2 tasks such as installation and configuration of Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware ESX software, reation of virtual machines, and deployment of operating systems to these virtual machines

HP Insight Control Rapid Deployment software is a server deployment solution that facilitates the installation, configuration, and consistent deployment of high-volumes of servers through either a GUI-based or a web-based console, using either scripting or imaging technology. Server configuration time is reduced, making it possible to scale server deployments to high volumes in rapid fashion.
At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to:
Discuss advanced deployment techniques involving HP Insight Control Server Deployment, such as scripting, multicasting, security, and automation environment
Deploy Microsoft Hyper-V, create a Microsoft Windows Server virtual machine, and deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2008 to this virtual machine
Deploy Microsoft SQL Server using HP Insight Control Server Deployment
Create virtual computers and set up virtual bays within HP Insight Control Server Deployment
Manage target servers with multiple partitions Deploy VMware ESX, create a Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual machine, and deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux to this virtual machine
Deploy Red Hat Package Manager (RPM) using the Deployment Console
Next steps
HP Blade/CloudSystem Matrix: Infrastructure Administration (HK920S)
