Course overview

In this two-day course, students will become familiar with the architecture and features of the HP Intelligent Management Center (IMC) software and learn how to install the application. Once installed delegates will discover the network, perform operations around back up, performance management and use IMC to manage and monitor the discovered devices. In addition delegates will use the Network Traffic Analyzer module to analyze traffic using the sFlow protocol.

  • Describe the IMC architecture
  • Install IMC
  • Perform the initial startup of IMC including discovery of devices
  • Create SNMP and Telnet templates
  • Create operators
  • Create device groups
  • Create custom views
  • Perform a software upgrade using IMC
  • Perform a backup of the configuration on discovered switches.
  • Gather performance data using the Performance Management Use IMC to analyze traffic using the Network Traffic Analyzer Module
