Course overview

ProCurve Secure Mobility Solutions demonstrates designs and techniques for using ProCurve products to provide high levels of security while enabling users to move freely throughout the enterprise. SMS emphasizes ways to ensure users receive appropriate rights regardless of connection type or location.


Prerequisites

  • Adaptive EDGE Fundamentals (AEF v4.11 or higher)
  • ProCurve Networking Security (v4.31 or higher)
  • Building ProCurve Resilient, Adaptive Networks (BPRAN v7.41 or higher), or Routing Switch Essentials (RSE v5.21)
  • ProCurve Mobility (v6.41 or higher)
  • Successful completion of the self-paced SMS Pre-study Guide and self-assessment exam

  • Design a comprehensive secure mobility solution using ProCurve hardware and software products
  • Use ProCurve products to provide confidentiality, integrity, and availability in a network that offers wired and wireless access
  • Explain the secure mobility options and features offered by the Wireless Edge Services zl Module, ProCurve Access Point 530, and ProCurve Manager Plus/Identity Driven Manager
  • Configure ProCurve products to leverage an enterprise’s existing authentication services, especially Microsoft Windows Active Directory and Internet Authentication Service (IAS)
  • Configure a secure mobility solution based on the Wireless Edge Services zl Module and associated
    Radio Ports
  • Design and configure a unified approach to wired and wireless access control using ProCurve Manager Plus/Identity Driven Manager
  • Use the centralized policy-setting features of Identity Driven Manager to enforce access control at the network edge
  • Use ProCurve secure mobility solutions to provide access to guests without compromising enterprise network security
  • Implement the built-in security features of the Wireless Edge Services zl Module, including IP and MAC ACLs, intrusion detection, and rogue AP detection
  • Implement the built-in security features of the ProCurve Access Point 530, including Web-based
    authentication
