Course overview

This 2-day course provides students with the opportunity to review and implement SAN Boot configurations with ProLiant servers. This course also provides an overview of technologies including to support SAN Boot: ProLiant Server, BIOS configuration, Host Bus Adapter, Array, SAN fabric configuration, Array configuration and OS deployment. Labs provide documentation to support deployment to SAN of: Windows 2003, Windows 2008, RedHat EL 5, SuSE 10, MS Hyper-V and VMware ESX 3.5.

Prerequisites

  • 3day HP BladeSystem: c-class Administration (HE646S) course or equivalent knowledge
  • 3day HP Insight Control Suite: Deploying and Updating with RDP(HE645S) Course or equivalent knowledge

Other Recommendations:

  • Working foundation knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2008 Hyper-V (HG790S) or equivalent
  • Working foundation knowledge of VMware ESX (HB513S or HH627S) or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of SAN fundamentals (UC420S) or equivalent
