Course overview

This 5 day course provides prepress professionals with the knowledge and skills to build and load jobs to an HP Indigo Digital Press. This will include a focus on using HP Indigo Labels & Packaging Prepress Tools Powered by EskoArtwork. Topics covered will relate to common Prepress needs of the Industrial market place; Spot colors, Indichrome, Imposition and Barcode job options. During the second half of the class the focus will shift to the HP Indigo Labels and Packaging Color Kit powered by EskoArtwork. This will include using the profiling tool to profile the press, instruction on dealing with special colors, and creating bundles of color management specifications called Color Strategies to support an automated workflow. Finally, the Variable Data tools will be introduced with a focus on Sequential numbering and variable barcode file submittal.

The course provides 40 percent lecture and 60 percent hands-on.

Prerequisites

• Minimum of 1 year digital prepress experience Macintosh or PC
• If applicable a working knowledge of variable data
• If applicable a working knowledge of color theory, color profiling and color measurement and calibration tools
