Course overview

This level 3 course is a service level maintenance and repair training program for shared maintenance operators, and is a hands-on course. The course focuses on the interaction and function of the mechanical, electronic, fluid, imaging and substrate transport systems on the HP Indigo 3000/3050 Digital Press. Participants will learn how to apply theoretical knowledge, hands-on troubleshooting, and maintenance skills to resolve problems, install software patches and implement hardware Field Change Orders (FCO). The course will introduce more advanced topics, and review the important fundamental adjustments within the press.


Prerequisites

A person who meets requirements for the Level 3 course has a background of:

  • Successfully completed HP Indigo 3000/3050 Digital Press; Shared Maintenance training U8509S
  • A minimum of 3 months experience on the HP Indigo 3050 Digital Press after completing HP Indigo 3000/3050 Digital Press; Shared Maintenance training
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronics, system schematics and PC/ Windows
  • Has good mechanical repair skills
  • Has experience using electronic test equipment

 

Audience

Qualified HP Indigo Digital Press Shared Customers who will be required to perform service routines that include repair, troubleshooting, corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance on the HP Indigo 3000/3050 Digital Press.


Course objectives

At the completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the operation and interaction of the major subassemblies
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic problems
  • Work with technical support to solve complex problems
  • Properly observe safety precautions to diagnose problems and perform repairs
  • Be able to perform mandatory preventive maintenance functions at prescribed intervals
  • Perform a system back-up and full software installation
  • Perform software upgrades and Field Change Orders (FCO's)
