Course objectives

HP Insight Control Rapid Deployment software is a server deployment solution that facilitates the installation, configuration, and consistent deployment of high-volumes of servers through either a GUI-based or a web-based console, using either scripting or imaging technology. Server configuration time is reduced, making it possible to scale server deployments to high volumes in rapid fashion.
At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe the HP Insight Control Server Deployment software 7
  • Describe the PXE technology
  • Complete the pre-installation requirements
  • Describe and perform installation of the HP Insight Control Server Deployment software 7
  • Perform HP Insight Control Server Deployment 7 configuration
  • Describe the Deployment Console
  • Describe the scripted installation and imaging jobs
  • Explain the role of deployment agents
  • Deploy Microsoft Windows Server 2008 with scripting and imaging
  • Demonstrate the use of conditional jobs and filters
  • List and describe available support resources
  • Deploy Red Hat Enterprise Linux with scripting and imaging
