Special notes

This 4day HE644S course replaces the previous 3day U8474S course effective Aug ‘07. HE644S course is targeted to customers monitoring and managing the new HP Insight Control Environment (ICE). HE644S is also applicable to customers using HP SIM with the Proliant Essentials product.


Course overview

This 4-day course equips students with the skills and knowledge to plan, deploy and configure the management and monitoring capabilities of Insight Control Environment. Students will spend the majority of the time learning to use HP Systems Insight Manager (HP SIM) for managing systems and performing collections, along with inventory and fault management. The course will also cover the integration of various options within Insight Control Environment for performance, patch management and virtualization.


Prerequisites

  • Completion of Introduction to HP Systems Insight Manager WBT (U8695AAE)
  • Familiarity with general networking terminology and basic network security concepts. An understanding of one of the following operating systems
    • Microsoft Windows 2000, 2000 advanced, 2003 Standard, 2003 Enterprise Edition or Windows XP
    • RedHat Enterprise Linux AS or RedHat Enterprise Linux ES
    • SuSE Linux Enterprise Server
