Special note

This course is appropriate for operators using the HP OpenView Operations for UNIX (HP Operations Software) product. It is not relevant to those operators using the HP OpenView Operations for Windows (HP Operations Softwarew) product.


Course overview

This two-day course covers the skills needed to manage systems and applications running in a heterogeneous computing environment using the HP Operations Software for UNIX 8.x product. This course is intended for Operations Operators and others who need an introductory overview of HP Operations Software. It covers specific procedures necessary to process messages originating from application errors and provides hands-on lab experience using HP Operations Software to isolate and troubleshoot problems. Emphasis is on use of the Java GUI interface.


Prerequisites

  • Fundamentals of the UNIX® system (51434S) or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows NT and TCP/IP networking (desirable)
  • Hands-on systems operation experience in a networked environment

Audience

  • This course is recommended for application or system support personnel, or anyone who needs an overview of the capabilities of the HP Operations Software product
