1. Open the scanner lid.

2. Locate the mylar strip.

3. Clean both sides of the mylar strip with a clean, damp, lint-free cloth.

CAUTION: Do not pour water directly onto the mylar strip. Doing so might damage the device. Be careful not to damage the mylar strip by applying excessive force.

NOTE: If the mylar strip appears to be damaged, replace it with one from the envelope. Show me how.

4. Close the scanner lid.
