As the printing and imaging market continues to grow, HP needs more salespeople with the skills to effectively sell IPG solutions. Now a new certification teaches sales professionals just that.
Advances in digital printing technology and changes in market dynamics has caused the imaging and printing (IPG) market to experience a real surge in recent years. As a result, there is a $10 billion annual market in EMEA for IPG hardware – growing by 20 percent a year – and a $20 billion opportunity in supplies.

Knowledge to sell

A new sales certification will help partner organisations maximise their transactional sales in IPG hardware and supplies and help them successfully compete in this market.

The Accredited Sales Professional (ASP) – Specialty in Office Printing [2008] certification will give sales teams a real understanding of the HP IPG portfolio as well as of customers’ unique business needs. Participants will learn how to provide relevant solutions that address customer pain points, as well as cross-sell and up-sell strategies that will increase sales margins.

The next step

Having at least one salesperson on staff who has attained this certification is a requirement for obtaining a new Preferred Partner Specialization – the Office Printing Specialization.

Partners who become an Office Printing Specialist can expect to sell the full breadth of HP’s imaging and printing portfolio and help simplify and optimise their customers’ copying and printing environment. Additionally, this specialization helps partners become recognised experts in IPG and provides them with additional funding, tools and support from HP to really expand their business opportunities in this market.

As easy as 1 -2 -3

Obtaining the ASP – Speciality in Office Printing [2008] is fast and straightforward. If a sales employee has met the prerequisite – passed the IPG Sales Fundamentals exam (HP2-B22 or older version HP2-983 or HP2-050)– then he or she can enrol in the course Advanced Office Printing (course code: 00049071). During the one-day, instructor-led training, valuable sales strategies and up-to-date information about the current IPG portfolio will be presented.

Those who already have this knowledge may have the option to simply take the web-based Advanced Office Printing sales exam (exam code: HP2-B26). Passing the exam is the main requirement for achieving the ASP - Specialty in Office Printing [2008] sales certification.
