Networking made easy

Businesses increasingly see the value in unifying voice, video and data. As a result, networking and telecommunications skills are more valuable than ever. Gain these skills with new certifications.
A recent article in the IT publication Computerworld identified networking and telecommunications skills as being among the most important IT skills for 2008.  With the addition of new credentials from ProCurve Networking by HP, the HP Certified Professional Program gives you even more opportunities for training and certification in these critical skills.

There are three new credentials available as of January 3, 2008:

»  ASE – ProCurve Networking & WAN Technologies [2008]
»  ASE – ProCurve Networking & Mobility [2008]
»  MASE – ProCurve Networking Convergence Specialist [2008]

The ASE credentials have a new core requirement exam based on a new training course called Building ProCurve Resilient, Adaptive Networks (BPRAN).  BPRAN describes techniques for implementing resilient switched and routed networks capable of fulfilling the “triple play” requirement of supporting voice, video and data transmissions on a unified infrastructure. This training course replaces both RSE and Convergence courses.

By updating and combining convergence topics into BPRAN, HP is providing our partners with a much more comprehensive core course and a more efficient program for coming up to speed on main stream technologies and how to implement them using ProCurve products and solutions.

Get information about BPRAN.

Important information about pre-2008 credentials

The new technical credentials supersede earlier versions, and students are encouraged to pursue the 2008 credentials for the latest and most relevant training and skills.

The following credentials are now “transitional” and will be considered “inactive” as of June 1, 2008:

»  ASE - ProCurve Networking & Convergence [2006] – Transitional
»  ASE - ProCurve Networking & Mobility [2007] – Transitional
»  ASE - ProCurve Networking & WAN Technologies [2006] – Transitional
»  MASE - ProCurve Networking Convergence Specialist [2006] - Transitional

Once they are inactive, they are no longer achievable by new candidates.  However, the inactive versions of these credentials will continue to be recognised as part of the HP Certified Professional Program and remain valid toward channel partner program benefits until further notice.

If you have already started work on the ASE 2006 or 2007 credentials and wish to complete those credentials, you will need to complete your ASE certification before the end of May 2008.
