Technology family descriptions

Business Critical Systems

This family includes HP Integrity Servers, Superdome servers, HP9000 servers and operating systems such as HP OpenVMS and HP-UX.

Commercial Solutions

Creation of a commercial solution for a customer involves the integration of all HP commercial products, both hardware and software, across the HP portfolio. Commercial products include HP ProLiant, entry-level HP Integrity Servers, commercial Storage, ProCurve Networking, Imaging and Printing, and Desktop/Mobile Solutions. (Note: Commercial Solutions do not include HP Enterprise product and solutions.)

Desktops, Workstations and Notebooks

This family includes business desktop PCs, workstations, thin clients, business notebook PCs, and tablet PCs.

Enterprise Solutions

Creation of an enterprise solution for a customer involves the integration of all HP enterprise products, both hardware and software, across the HP portfolio. The Enterprise Solutions family includes Business Critical Systems, Industry Standard Servers, and Storage Solutions.

Imaging and Printing

Imaging and printing products include LaserJet and InkJet printers, multifunction devices, copiers and scanners.

Industry Standard Servers

This family covers server solutions based on industry standard x86 processors and optimized for Windows®, Linux®, and Netware® environments. Products include ProLiant Servers, ProLiant server BladeSystem and "ProLiant Essentials" management software.

NonStop Systems

This product family includes HP Integrity NonStop, HP NonStop Servers, and HP NonStop Software. These are part of the HP enterprise server and solution products, and are optimized for 24/7 availability, fail-safe data integrity and ultimate scalability.

ProCurve Networking

ProCurve by HP products and solutions include enterprise and workgroup level routing switches, wireless networks and management software. Solutions for secure mobility, VOIP and QoS are also included.

Software

HP Software drives improved outcomes for HP global clients through the development and deployment of market-leading software and solutions. This family includes Business Technology Optimization (BTO), Business Information Optimization (BIO), Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), and OpenCall. More detailed information.

Storage Solutions

This product family includes networked SAN and NAS solutions from HP StorageWorks. The StorageWorks portfolio includes array systems, tape storage, archiving capabilities, NAS, software, solutions, SAN infrastructure, and storage media.

Sales (IT Sales Representative, Account Manager, Relationship Manager)

HP sales credentials provide sales professionals the tools needed to effectively analyze customer business requirements and to successfully position and sell the full HP solutions portfolio.

Presales (IT Presales Consultant, IT Solutions Architect / Designer)

HP presales credentials equip technical IT professionals with the skills necessary to effectively analyze customer business requirements and plan and design an HP solution, including application, platform, operating system, storage and networking, and so on.

Systems Integration (Systems Integrator, Solution Implementer, Systems Engineer, Support Engineer)

HP systems integration credentials provide technical IT professionals with the skills needed to design, implement, configure, integrate and support HP solutions given a set of customer business requirements.

Systems Administration (Systems Administrator, IT System Manager)

HP credentials in this group offer IT professionals the setup, administration and management skills required to effectively configure and support an IT environment.

Systems Development (Software Developer)

HP systems development credentials provide software developers the skills and knowledge needed to design, implement, test, and maintain HP software products.

Hardware Support (Hardware Support Technician, Hardware Repair Technician)

HP hardware support credentials equip an individual to provide basic hardware support for commercial / business class HP products.
