The steps to certification are generally consistent worldwide, with slight regional differences (those differences are noted below).

Step 1

Select the credential you would like to achieve via the website:

There are three ways to access credentials: Credential search, Quick access menu, and Program overview.

Step 2

Review the requirements and any prerequisites

Step 3

Obtain an HP Student ID:

An HP student ID is a personal ID number assigned as your secured entry point into HP training and certification.

The process for obtaining or retrieving your Student ID varies from region to region. For more information, click on your region below:

» Americas
» Asia Pacific
» Europe, Middle East and Africa
» Japan

Step 4

Complete prerequisites (if any):

Review and complete the required prerequisites for the credential you are seeking. Please submit as follows according to your region:

Americas:
Fax any third party certificates or exams to the program office. Please include your student ID on all faxes.

  • Fax for North America (U.S. and Canada): 281-274-9719
  • Fax for Latin America: 506-508-6828
  • Fax for APS levels: 281-926-7023

Europe, Middle East and Africa:
Please send a scanned copy of your third party certification to certificationandeducation.emeasupport@hp.com. Be sure this proof document includes the date on which you have achieved it. For a Microsoft proof document you can, for example, download your personal transcript. Also include your full name and HP student ID.

Asia Pacific:
See step 7 below.

Step 5

Complete the training:

The training courses are available to help you prepare for HP Certified Professional exams. (Training is not required for certification but is highly recommended).

Step 6

Complete the required exam(s):

Complete required exam(s)… either at an Authorized Prometric Testing Center (exams HP0-xxx) or online (web-based) at your office or even at home (exams HP2-xxx). Please note that an HP Student ID is required to register for all exams.
