A BladeSystem is an infrastructure in a box that can be filled with blades of all types, shapes and sizes (in thousands of combinations!) to run what your customers want to run today to deliver vital business solutions and services to their customers.
Small and mid-size businesses need an IT infrastructure that is powerful, yet practical. It must be affordable from the start, inexpensive to power, and simple to setup and manage. Most of all, it needs to be able to easily and reliably grow with the business and save IT staff time and effort. Blade server systems meet all these requirements with the ability to combine server, storage, network, power, and management capabilities in an integrated, modular system. Blade servers require less floor space, use less power, and cost less to operate than comparable rack-mount servers, and they're easier to manage.
Blades help customers run what they want to run, with useful tools to simplify the job and save them money. Blades are about building better infrastructures – not just better servers.
HP continues to reaffirm its commitment to small and medium business by introducing in September 2007 the versatile all-in-one HP BladeSystem c3000, a rack-mounted enclosure that holds 8 server and storage blades and 4 high-speed networking bays, with a Tower version coming soon .
The BladeSystem c3000 is built uniquely for small sites and builds on the success attributes of the BladeSystem c7000 enclosure, including a cost-effective modular design, energy efficient through HP's Thermal Logic technology that allows 30% less power usage than rack servers, and easy setup and management through intelligent tools and the built-in management interface.
At the same time, HP is introducing HP BladeSystem Solution Blocks. These Solution Blocks cut the time and effort needed to create, combine and upgrade business solutions on a BladeSystem: Mail and Messaging (based on Microsoft Exchange); CRM (based on Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Sage SalesLogix); ERP (based on Oracle’s JD Edwards BusinessOne, Oracle’s E-Business Suite SAP All-in-one, and Microsoft Dynamics AX); Disaster Recovery (based on VMware), and Application Delivery (based on Citrix). And HP offers sizers and other tools and White Papers to help remove risk around deployment.
HP offers a complete portfolio of Services to support the c3000, including Installation and Startup, Enclosure Hardware Support, and Support Plus 24 - providing 24x7 hardware enclosure support and software technical support and updates.
The new All-in-One SB600c Storage Blade also helps customers create HP BladeSystem c-Class business solutions by consolidating file serving (NAS), shared application storage (iSCSI SAN), and data protection under a unified management umbrella to deliver outstanding value and utility.
