Multifunction Printer (MFP) Market Champion
Hewlett-Packard received a near-perfect value score and was named a Multifunction Printer (MFP) Champion in Info-Tech Research Group’s 2011 multifunction printer (MFP) vendor landscape. HP received the highest Value Score and was praised for having one of the most diverse product portfolios in the SME market, and for its global presence supported by strong sales and service teams.
Determining HP’s Value Score
The Info-Tech study assessed vendor capabilities and ranked MFP vendor products for the mid-market and small enterprise. MFP vendors were scored on a variety of criteria including features, usability and reach and their affordability score was multiplied by the sum of these scores to determine their Value Index Score. HP received a value score of 19.5 out of 20, the highest score awarded to any vendor. The average vendor score in the study was 11 out of 20. Based on this, other vendors were indexed against HP’s performance to provide a complete relative view of the market.
Conclusion
Info-Tech Research Group concluded that HP is a good option for cost-conscious, small to mid-sized enterprises. In a market where price can be a differentiator, Info-Tech found that HP offers competitive price points for quality MFP products.
On a relative basis, HP maintained the highest Info-Tech Value Score TM of the vendor group. Vendors were indexed against HP’s performance to provide a complete, relative view of their product offerings.
