HP Business Desktop PCs with Intel® vPro™ technology and DASH 1.1, as well as other management solutions, give you the flexibility to efficiently and cost-effectively manage your PCs from one location.
This industry standard allows you to perform essential management tasks on PCs, regardless of their power state. DASH-capable HP Business Desktop PCs give you:
Management efficiency: Remotely manage systems whether they are on or off, and whether Windows is running normally or is out-of-service.
Power efficiency: Minimize energy spend by utilizing DASH's power boot control to turn on systems only when updates are necessary. In addition, you'll achieve a more accurate inventory of systems—even those that were powered down.
Usage efficiency: DASH automatically sends alert messages regarding system hardware health to PC manageability software. This translates into reduced user down-time and less work interruptions, increasing productivity.
DASH 1.1 is available on select HP Business Desktop PCs.
Some functionality of this technology, such as Intel Active management technology and Intel Virtualization technology, requires additional 3rd party software in order to run. Availability of future "virtual appliances" applications for Intel vPro technology is dependent on 3rd party software providers. Compatibility of this generation of Intel vPro technology-based hardware with future "virtual appliances" and Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems is yet to be determined.
This technology is currently available on the HP dc7900 and HP dc5850 models that include the optional Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Plus NIC.
