| The secret of rich, realistic photo prints? There isn’t just one… |
| It’s a variety of elements—the number and size of ink droplets, how they’re layered and mixed on a specialty paper, and the quality of the ink—that really make the pictures come alive. |

| For life-like photos, size and placement of ink drops matter. |
| • |
HP starts every shade of colour with a drop 1/3 the width of a human hair—a picoliter. That's a millionth of a millionth of a liter. |
| • |
That drop is then mixed precisely with another drop.
And another and another and another: An HP cartridge
manages 500 microscopic nozzles that place 40 million
picoliters on a 4" x 6" print. |
| • |
Nozzle accuracy is crucial to creating sharp, clear pictures. HP printers blast 36,000 drops of ink per second to produce stellar results. And shooting a drop of ink right next to another is like trying to drop a nickel into a paper cup … from a skyscraper. |

| True to the origin of their name—which means life and longevity—HP’s new Vivera inks combine the best output colour and fade resistance. |
| • |
Most dyes can’t deliver good colour and good fade resistance; HP co-develops exclusive dyes for vivid colour on plain and specialty papers, as well as extended fade resistance on HP photo papers. |
| • |
The use of dyes, rather than pigments, provides an exceptionally smooth high-gloss finish on glossy photo papers for brilliant, three-dimensional image quality. |
| • |
The dyes are formulated with a proprietary chemical structure that prevents deterioration by screening out light and pollutants. |

| 8 is enough |
| Many printers use either four or six colour inks—HP set the bar (again!) with its 8-colour inkjet printers. |
| • |
The two new colours aren't really colours—they're lighter and darker neutral shades of gray. |
| • |
As if two new colours weren't enough, each printed pixel can combine 32 superfine ink droplets for up to 72.9 million colours. |
| • |
The result is dazzling, vibrant images with improved shadow detail, better colour accuracy, and even sharper images that last even longer*. |
