Now that you’ve got a digital camera, learn how to get the most out of it with some key accessories. From high-capacity memory cards to camera docks to stylish, protective cases, explore the latest camera accessories from HP.

Memory cards: Store more photos than ever
Additional memory cards allow you to take more pictures before you have to transfer images to your computer. This way, you can increase your chances of capturing the perfect angle, just the right light, or the most revealing, candid moment.

To make sure you don’t miss a thing, HP Secure Digital memory cards offer high storage capacity in a product the size of a postage stamp. Keep one on hand for an extended trip or vacation, or for those times when you just need to free up space on your camera.

This chart shows you how many photos you can store on your camera’s memory card if your camera’s image quality is set on the default setting (usually Better). The actual number of photos will vary depending on which camera you have, image quality settings, and how detailed the photos are.
Camera Megapixels Number of images that fit on a 64MB memory card Number of images that fit on a 128MB memory card Number of images that fit on a 256MB memory card Number of images that fit on a 512MB memory card Number of images that fit on a 1GB memory card

HP also offers USB Digital Drive memory card readers, pocket sized devices you can use with your memory card to quickly and easily transfer photos (and other files) between your digital camera, printer, and PC. They’re handy if you’d like to bring your photos to a friend’s house to view them on a PC, for example.

Dock, share, and print
An HP digital camera dock creates a direct link between your camera and another device, and allows you to:

  • Quickly save and print photos with the touch of a button.
  • View your photos or digital movies on a TV.
  • Charge your batteries while you download pictures to your PC or printer.

Some models, like the HP Photosmart 6221 premium camera dock even include a remote control so you can enjoy your photos from the comfort of your couch. Wireless docks like the HP Photosmart 6222 wireless share base cable-free convenience for network and online photo sharing.

And with HP Photosmart Share technology (formerly known as HP Instant Share), you can e-mail photos to friends and family members without the hassle of huge attachments or slow downloading times. Take an online tour to learn more about HP Photosmart Share.

Print like a pro
Get your digital photos out of your camera and into your hands with the right HP photo printer. With special features like red-eye removal, cropping and zooming, and borderless printing, you can create photos that look like they came from a professional lab in a fraction of the time. Print directly from your camera or from a memory card, and choose the perfect printer to fit your needs.

  • If it’s speed you’re looking for, try the HP Photosmart 8250—the world’s fastest photo printer—which prints stunning photos in as little as 14 seconds1.
  • If you need to print photos on the go, try an HP portable printer like the HP Photosmart 385 compact photo printer, featuring a preview display and image-enhancing technologies with fold-up convenience. 3 out of 4 people prefer photos from the HP Photosmart compact printer2.
  • Or, if you want to streamline your home office, choose a printer that can do it all, like the HP Photosmart 3310 all-in-one that lets you scan, copy, and even fax as well as print sharp photos with vibrant color.

Never run out of battery power
Your digital camera is only as reliable as the batteries in it, and it’s always a good idea to keep an extra set on hand. Forget run-of-the-mill alkaline batteries and consider using popular HP lithium-ion batteries for HP R-series cameras. They can be recharged hundreds of times and offer enough additional power for twice as many photos.

HP also offers portable recharging kits that can recharge your digital camera batteries in an hour or less. Try the AA-battery quick recharge kit for M-series or E-series cameras or the lithium-ion HP Photosmart quick recharge kit for R-series cameras.

Protect your camera in style
Not only do cases protect a camera, but they often have built-in pockets for batteries and memory cards. It’s a nice way to protect your camera and keep all your gear together.

HP’s newest line of camera cases includes stylish designs that are practical enough for the park and pretty enough for a night out.

Choose a classic, simple style like the HP Photosmart M-series digital camera case. It’s small enough to stash in your purse or attach to your belt loop. Or, for more flair, choose a style with the sophisticated look of leather, or quilted fabrics in an assortment of colors.

If you take a lot of pictures outdoors, try the HP Photosmart R-series weather-resistant camera jacket, which keeps your camera dry even while you’re using it. Or, for the ultimate in water protection, go for the watertight durability of the HP Photosmart SCUBA/underwater camera case designed specifically for HP Photosmart R817 or R818 cameras.

Photo software completes the package
HP photo printers and cameras come with HP Photosmart Essential software for basic editing and photo management, but you can also purchase additional software. HP Creative Scrapbook Assistant includes hundreds of ready-made theme images and a variety of page layouts. Just add your photos!

1Speed comparisons in default and fastest modes, when printing from a computer, based upon HP internal testing of comparable consumer photo printing products available as of April 2005.

2Results were on average over other tested printer brands. Consumer tests were performed with the HP Photosmart 385 printer—which uses the same printing mechanism in the Photosmart 335, 385 and 420 series printers.
