As you ponder what to pack for your trip,
consider your options for downloading photos from your camera to a storage
device. This is important because when the pictures are no longer on
your camera, you have the freedom to shoot more pictures during your
vacation and easily share them, even before you get home. You could:
- Go to a cyber café. If the PCs at
the café have memory card slots, insert your memory card
directly into the computer. Or, connect your camera to the computer
via the USB cord that came with your camera. Then, download
your photos and post them on the internet.
- Transfer your photos to a PC. A notebook
PC allows you to connect your camera and download your pictures
immediately. You can e-mail them to friends and family back
home. HP
notebooks are packed with image-editing software and other
features that photographers need to enhance and share their
pictures. (Don’t forget the connector cable!)
- Store them on multiple memory cards. Extra
memory cards are incredibly portable, and they allow you to
store so many more photos. HP
Secure Digital memory cards offer high storage capacity—from
64MB up to 1G—in a product the size of a postage stamp.

Memory cards aren’t the only accessories
you’ll want to bring along on your trip. Here are a few other
items you can slip into your suitcase:
- If you want to shoot all day without losing power, pack an
extra camera battery or two.
- Consider bringing along your HP
digital camera dock so you can charge your batteries in
the camera when you’re not out snapping pictures.

Be ready to print anywhere |

If you’re attending a family reunion
or other event where you’d like to print and share photos on the
spot, pack a portable printer. Select compact models include batteries,
carrying cases, and handles for extra portability.
The HP
Photosmart 475 compact photo printer stores up to 1,000 pictures
right inside the printer, freeing up space on your hard drive
or your camera’s memory card. It also prints in a variety
of sizes, including 4" x 12" panoramas—perfect
for those vacation vistas.
Your friends and family will be thrilled to receive prints from
you right away instead of waiting to get them in the mail. (And
it’s one less thing to do when you get home!) Remember to
pack plenty of HP photo paper.

It’s easy to share photos of your
vacation with friends and family back home while you’re still
traveling. If you post your photos to Snapfish, send an e-mail to friends
and family, and invite them to view your photos online.
If you’re using an HP notebook PC, you can use HP
Photosmart Share software to e-mail photos right away. Simply
designate destinations (e-mail addresses) from the back of your
camera and send images automatically when you connect your camera
to your PC.

Enhance your vacation photos |

It’s easy to make minor edits and
add captions and borders to your photos before you send them using built-in
features on the latest HP PCs, portable printers, and digital cameras.
HP digital cameras have special features built right in. You
can automatically remove red-eye, and enhance lighting using HP’s
Real Life technologies—features that make it nearly impossible
to take a bad photo. And be sure to capture some panoramic shots
using the HP
in-camera panorama stitching and preview features.
You can also use in-camera Design Gallery features to enhance
the colors of the sky, create a cartoon or “slimming”
effect, apply a kaleidoscope effect, add an artistic border to your
picture, and more—all without a PC! Learn more about how you
can get print-ready
pictures with your HP digital camera.
